About the Zeta Organizational Leadership Program

The Zeta Organizational Leadership (ZOL) program is a future-focused, nationally structured intensified leadership training program that serves as the blue print for the Sorority’s leadership development and enhancement efforts.  It was designed to ensure a future talent pool of leadership for Zeta on the national level of our Sorority by delivering consistent, high quality training.  It was developed by a think tank of talented Sorors from diverse backgrounds who are experts in their respective fields and are serving and have served at the highest levels within Zeta and others organizations.  The overarching goal of the ZOL program is to provide Zetas with the essential knowledge and skills to be exceptional leaders within and as a natural result, outside of Zeta.  It is wholly focused on training Zetas who are currently in leadership positions and who want to become leaders. The target audiences for this program include, but are not limited to:

What’s the Difference between ZOL Training and ZOL Certification?

ZOL Training. The Zeta Organizational Leadership training is designed to give you an overall knowledge about the organization.  It is designed to help you become more proficient in understanding Zeta’s organizational practices, policies, procedures, and customs. More importantly, it is a training that invokes critical thinking abilities which is at the core of effective leadership.

Advanced Leadership Training  **NEW**.  You asked, we answered! This course is designed specifically for the Soror who has already completed the ZOL Certification course and is experienced in many aspects of Zeta but wants to further her develop her knowledge and skills. More in-depth and intensive coverage of leadership roles and responsibilities, organizational structure and culture, and what makes you go from good to great are all aspects of this two day immersion course. Please note: You must have already been ZOL Certified to register for this course.

ZOL Certification. ZOL Leadership Certification is one of the ZOL training program components.  It is a method to prepare candidates for national elected office, and appointed regional and state directors (and those interested in serving in this capacity) to assume effective leadership roles through the practice of specific behaviors that enhance leadership performance.  Completion of this certification curriculum means that a Soror is expected to perform at a high level of competency and exemplify leadership behaviors.  She will also be deemed as having met one of the constitutional qualifications to run for National Elected Office.

Why Should I Attend Now?

There are several reasons you should attend ZOL.  During the two day Leadership Certification you will learn about the challenges driven by changes in membership needs and preferences, technology, resource development and allocation, governance and role expectations, legislation and regulation, strategy and accountability for value, and more! The very pace of organizational activity demands excellent communication, understanding, and responsiveness. To succeed, you need to work in tandem with others, as productively and efficiently as possible.

Additionally, if you are planning to run for a National Office in 2012 and you have not taken the certification course, this is your last chance before the 2012 Boulé.  During the 2004 Boulé, amendments were made to the bylaws requiring Sorors who plan to be nominees for a national elected office, Sorors who wish to be appointed regional or state directors, and any Soror interested in leadership training for a national office to meet the certification curriculum requirements.  The ZOL Leadership Certification course must be completed prior to the 2012 Boulé.
